Assessment of a combined plan · layer and healing reasoning · risk accumulated in one episode

Dr. Ke He is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital and head of its skin and laser aesthetic service — and she is the lead physician of this site. A core specialist formerly at the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Department of Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, she has worked on the clinical front line in skin laser and injectable aesthetics for more than 20 years, serving over ten thousand patients.

On this review her part is the distinction between a combination that has a reason and a combination that has a schedule. She asks what each component is for, what layer it reaches, and what the tissue is being asked to heal from at the same time, and she treats the accumulation of risk in one episode as a fact to be stated rather than a detail to be managed. Where the second component adds risk without adding a result, she says so, and where staging would answer the same question with less concentrated risk, she describes that as the alternative it is rather than as a delay.

Clinical focus

  • Assessment of whether a combination has a clinical reason behind it
  • Layer-by-layer reasoning about what each component changes
  • The accumulation of risk when two treatments share one healing period
  • Judging a combined result later, and why early review misleads
  • When staging one component at a time answers the question better

Convenience is not a clinical reason

One anaesthetic and one recovery period are real advantages, and they are advantages of time rather than of outcome. A combination that can only be justified by how convenient it is has not been justified clinically — and saying so is not an argument against combining, it is the standard any combination should be asked to meet.
